Handy Wood Trailer Winch

First, he attached a winch to his trailer.
“I lift the wood with the winch, not my back. I cut logs 6 or 8 ft. long and then lay them on the side of the trailer with the winch,” says Bergman.
He made a tray for the logs, with marks every 18 in., the length of his stove.
“When I fill my trailer, I take it to the woodshed to split and stack the wood. Once I have all the wood split and in the woodshed, I smile because I probably haven’t picked up any wood off the ground.
“I’ve owned the trailer for 20 years or more. I used it in my delivery business. I added the winch for about $175. The holding trough on the side was made with used lumber, adding little or no cost,” says Bergman.
